How to travel from St.Etienne to Budapest?
  1. Train: St.Etienne - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich - Budapest
This is the easiest: only train. But it takes about 23 hours
  2. Train: St.Etienne - Lyon - Geneva, then Plane: Geneva - Budapest
    (check easyjet.com www.hostelworld.com)
This is the best choice in my opinion, but this might require to spend a night in Geneva
  3. Train: St.Etienne - Paris, then Plane: Paris - Budapest
    (check www.skyeurope.com www.wizzair.com www.easyjet.com)
This may be the most confortable (TGV+Plane), but a little more expensive than #2
  4. Plane: St.Etienne - London - Budapest
    (check www.ryanair.com www.skyeurope.com www.wizzair.com www.easyjet.com)
This one takes two days, but it's fun and costs almost the same as the others
  5. Train: St.Etienne - Lyon, EXPENSIVE plane Lyon - Budapest
    (check www.malev.com)
    VERY EXPENSIVE

How to travel from Finnland to Budapest?
Sorry, the truth is: I've no idea... There are cheap flights between Budapest and Copenhagen (Sky Europe), or Budapest and Stockholm (WizzAir). There's a Malev flight between Helsinki and Budapest, but that costs ~600EUR. You can check www.sterlingticket.com or www.finnair.com for other planes.
What should we know about the dormitory?
Well, we'll make photos of the rooms, then you'll know more. The most important thing: do not expect five-star quality - this is only a student dormitory. We'll give you sheets, but bring towels and such. There won't be separate shower cabins in the rooms, and in general, rooms will be worse than in St.Etienne [well, residence Littré was a good one, but if we compare to Résidence Universitaire LA COTONNE, then I can say that Hungarian dormitories are not worse than that].
We'll keep you updated on this topic.
